Hunger for the transformation of all creation

Scripture
Habakkuk 2:14 (NIV) – “For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.”

Think
Today’s verse gives us a powerful vision of God’s plan for his creation – his glory filling the earth, bringing the fullness of his purpose for his new creation! As we hunger for God and long to see every life transformed by Jesus, we do so in hope that God will make all things new. Today, let’s pray for the coming of this new creation, filled with justice and peace where God’s people stand before him in perfect union with Jesus Christ. In our time of waiting, may we live as people of hope, participating in God’s transforming work and looking forward to the day when his glory will cover the earth. May our hunger for God fuel our hope in this day, and inspire us to play our part in seeing every life transformed by Jesus.

God of resurrection, fill me with hope in what is to come as you grow my faith in what you have done. As I long for the day where the world is full of your glory, turn my anticipation into action that I might declare with my words and actions that Jesus is Lord. Lord God, may we see every life transformed by Jesus. Amen.
