Holiday Club 2006

Megastars are … go!

What an amazing time was had at Holiday Club 2006 (Megastars)! 300 children, 100 teenagers and 50 adults packed into the main Parish Centre hall was a little warm in what must have been the hottest July week ever!  We coped though and the children still had energy to jump up and down and sing action songs, including the Megastars theme song.  Andrew Devis came and brought our Bible stories to us as we learnt about Megastars from the Bible like Daniel, Stephen and Philip. 

During the week we looked at the armour of God and built up a picture of a soldier.  As the week went on we learnt what this armour was for and how we could wear it for ourselves.  If you want to find out more you can find it in Ephesians 6 in the Bible. 

In the afternoon the craft, drama, music and dance workshops produced fantastic things and the sports activities wore the children out!  In the 5&6s we had a full band and the children enjoyed doing crafts and funsheets as well as playing in the water tray! 

The children’s favourite (as always) was the Holiday Club drama featuring the Evil Lord Xerox! But good triumphed over evil thanks to some quick thinking by the Cartmans and their trusty robot!

In the evenings we had events for the teenagers, which saw an average 50 teens attending.  They played games outside then listened to a testimony.  On the Thursday night we had guest DJs and a band.  The BBQ & Barndance was as popular as ever and it was great to be able to be outside.
