Painting Grange Infant School playground

Discovery Easter 2007

Ten of our teenagers from Discovery and The Church of the Good Shepherd spent a day of their school Easter holidays doing community work - painting the lines for a children's hopscotch pitch, at the Grange Community Infant and Nursery school.
'Helping the local Community has been a regular activity for these teenagers at Easter time for the last two years and this year was no different,' said Angie Lythgoe, community worker at COGS.
'The teenagers from both groups were keen to help!' said Angie. 'They created the hopscotch pitch and worked on other features in the Year R, Year 1 and Early Years playgrounds: the tracks, the insects, the airport runways and town plan, as well as the numbers and flowers. They were totally engrossed in their task on a grey and chilly morning and achieved all they were asked to do with hard work and humour!'
In past years members of the groups have renewed paint on the nursery playground fences, cleared out sheds, painted other lines and tracks on the playgrounds around the school, gardened and washed the toys used outside at playtimes.
