A Delicious contential breakfast

A delicious continental breakfast was served this time

About 140 ladies from within St Peters as well as neighbours, friends and colleagues enjoyed the food and fellowship even though it was early on Saturday morning.

Plenty of time to chat

There was plenty of time to chat , to catch up with old friends as well as make new ones

Speaker was Rebecca Hunt

Our speaker this time was Rebecca Hunt. She is the wife of James Hunt a curate at St Peters and is a barrister as well as wife and mother.

When she married and had children, she decided to work part-time as a lecturer at the BPP Law School. As a Christian, she was concerned at the way legislation has changed and is changing. She got involved in the Lawyers Christian Fellowship which is an organisation that seeks to influence lawyers and laws for Christ and currently produces material for them to alert Christians to the way proposed legislation can affect the way life, families and individuals are viewed. Her Topic for the Breakfast was - Is the law Moral? The aim of the talk was to encourage us as Christians to stand up and be counted when proposed legislation threatens Christian values.

Here is Rebecca with Anne Winkworth who initiated these Breakfasts in this format and is our super Saleswoman – she is always asking for more tickets to sell!!

Rebecca

Once the Breakfast is finished and the dishes are cleared away, the talk begins. All our talks are now recorded and there should be a loop activated for the hard of hearing. We must apologise to those who came last time as there was a problem with the loop system but we have been assured that it is alright now.

The talk usually lasts for about half an hour and this last time we also had time for questions. Rebecca gave us a lot to think about and some advice on what we could do as individuals if we shared the same concerns.

The tape is usually put in the Tape Library at the back of church and can be borrowed by anyone who comes to St Peters, whether as a regular or as a visitor. All we ask is that you sign in the book, do not hold onto the tape too long and leave your phone number so that you can be contacted if others want to borrow the tape. There are tapes there of most of the talks we have had over the past 3 years.

Each speaker has a story to tell

Each person who comes to speak at our Breakfasts has a story to tell, each speaker is different but everyone has a faith that is real and relevant. We all have our ups and downs, life is not always straightforward but everyone involved with putting on these breakfasts would testify along with our speakers, that God is faithful and will help us if we trust in Him.
