The Missions Fund

The Missions Fund is separate from the General Fund so that people can choose how much to give outside the parish for missionary work.  Here again the money is split into different headings:

Home Grown Mission Links  We support a number of missionaries from St. Peter’s to whom we have given a long-term commitment.  These Christians are mainly involved in using their skills, such as teaching, medical or administrative abilities in spreading the Good News.
Home Missions  Within the UK there are several organisations whom we support.  Examples include the Church Pastoral Aid Society, the London City Mission and the Soldiers’ and Airmen’s Scripture Readers Association.
Missionary Links With other churches we share the costs of several missionaries working overseas in many parts of the world.
Other Charitable Societies  We currently support two local charities, the Gateway Trust which provides Christian outreach in local schools, and Emmaus Projects which provides shelter for young homeless people.
Overseas Missions  We support several Christian organisations working in the mission field overseas, including the Church Mission Society, the Bible Society, Wycliffe Bible Translators and Interserve.
Relief Agencies  We respond to disaster appeals through Christian Aid or Tearfund, and in recent years we have formed a close link with the Neerekshe Project in India.
