MAUNDY THURSDAY 2003

Passover Supper at St Peter's

Supper Drawing

On Maundy Thursday many of the St Peter's congregation made Easter more meaningful by attending the "Last Supper" - A traditional Passover celebration where a meal consisting of roast lamb, water cress, unleavened bread, haroseth and bitter herbs was enjoyed.  This was followed by Communion.
Congratulations to the organisers of this excellent event.

The Easter Cross

The "Easter Cross" was formed out of the trunk of the St Peter's Christmas tree which provided a poignant link to the birth of Jesus.

On Easter Sunday the cross was decorated by the congregation of St Peter's  with daffodils.  Each daffodil represents a prayer for those in less fortunate circumstances.

The decorated cross symbolises victory over death and also beauty in an ugly world.
