The General Fund
St Peter's Church Farnborough

The General Fund is the largest of the four funds, and has the highest commitments. The work it pays for is split into five headings explained below:

Parish Share
Like every Church, we contribute a certain sum each month to the Diocese. This money is then used to pay for clergy stipends, housing, training and pensions.

Staff Cost
We employ an associate vicar, a youth minister and children's minister and pay several other people who work in and around the Church. These include administration staff, cleaners and gardener, and for some of these we also pay National Insurance contributions.

Running Costs
The House of God is like any other house, with the usual bills to be paid for both the Church and the Parish Centre. Gas, electricity, telephone, insurance, water rates, stationery, repairs and maintenance are just some of these. We also pay a mortgage for our curate's house.

Activities
This, broadly, covers the 'life' of our Church. There are over 40 groups in the Church, most of which do not need money but several do. The main groups needing financial support are our children and youth organisations.

Projects
Each year we have 'one-off' projects to carry out. These can range from simply fitting some new shelves to carrying out extensive restoration work on the fabric of the Church and grounds.
