The Women's
Fellowship has been part of St Peter's for 60 years in 2010. We
are an informal group and our aim is to provide a lively and varied
programme for the women of the Parish (men are welcomed) and to
provide support and friendship to those who join us.
We usually meet on the last Wednesday
of the month except August when Holiday at Home is run. Check our
printed programme usually available in the Parish Centre, in the
weekly Church news-sheet or on either the Parish
Diary or Women's Events pages
on the website or at the bottom of this page.
The meeting includes opening worship,
speaker and refreshments.
Our speakers are often members of
the congregation and will talk for about half an hour on their subject.
They do not charge but we have a retiring collection which goes
to a Charity of their choice. We have a bring and buy which helps
pay for the refreshments, a small gift for the speaker and birthday
corsage's.
The January meeting is an annual
Communion Service in the Church. We usually have a summer tea party
and a Christmas celebration. Talks we had recently were about Naomi
House Hospice, Lord Mayors Treloars College, Breast is best, The
Cody Flyer, The History of Phyllis Tuckwell, The Falkland Islands,
Butterflies and Burma; we choose speakers and topics to appeal for
all ages.
